The OID (Online Items Database) has proved a very successful product to keep your website dynamic - all done yourself! Logos Flow is committed to upgrading it's products using your feedback. This upgrade is part of the service for existing clients - no charge. OID Version 2.1 has the following improvements:
- On your front / home page you might have a list of latest News which lets vistors to your website browse your News items by a caption and brief description. The visitor can click on an item for further information and a full description, images, etc. However, you might want to display an image or a link as an item. Version 2.1 lets you choose exactly what to display: a caption with brief description, just an image, an image with a link, just a link ... completely up to you. You can also embed any object: Flash, animated gif, video, etc.
- Also, you might have a any number of 'components' running on your website: News, Events, Products, Classifieds, etc. The OID lets you have up to ten components that you can update on your website. In previous versions only one component could be placed on your front / home page: i.e. a list of News. Now you can have two components displayed, i.e. a list of News and a list of Products.
- As mentioned above you can now have two components on your front / home page. In previous versions this would be set in advance by us. Now you can choose which components appear: i.e. you might have News and Events, then change it to News and Products, or Events and Classifieds.
- We have generally improved the user-interface with a clearer layout while you a view lists and choosing which items to edit.
- Cross referencing your items - frequently our clients need to cross-reference between various items: i.e. a News items might refer to an Event. In version 2.1 we have added a box that includes the exact text that you can use to refer between items. You can simply copy and paste this text.
- The OID not only lets you add images to an item but add General Images that you might want to refer to anytime: i.e. you might want to show your logo on various News items. This means you do not need to load your logo each time you add a News item - you simply refer to it under General Images. In version 2.1 you have easy access to the General Images and we have added a box that includes the actual link to the image - you simply copy this text and paste it into an Item.
- Our online Help is continually being updated - this is available after you have logged in.
- Some clients found our terminology of confusing: we used terms like 'True' and 'False' - we have removed the techno-speak and we have change the terminology to terms like 'Yes' and 'No'.
