HumanitiesCMD upgrade to version 12.0



Thanks for all the feedback from everyone using the HumanitiesCMD.

Overview of some the new features and functionality in the latest version - note the screenshots as well:

  • General Images View: this new feature lets you enter a term to filter on and view the results in large images. This new feature compliments the existing search which shows the documentation and you click through to the image(s).
  • Selected: new functionality to let you interact with selected records. There is now one location for working with selected records. The idea is to make the process of managing what records are printed out and exported much simpler to understand.
  • Navigation / Lookups: on the Item Description form you can switch between Navigation / Lookups. This lets you view the Navigation options or records related to the Item, i.e. Producer, Management, etc.
  • Management > Stock taking: you can now automatically apply stock taking details to all selected records. For example: you can apply stock take details to an entire location, building, etc.
  • Management > Storage History: there is now an option to add the storage details to Storage History. This keeps a history of where the items have been stored. This functions in tandem with Movement which records when an item has been moved for storage (i.e. restoration, exhibition, etc.). Another useful feature is being able to filter on any field in Storage History.
  • Management > Location: there are now 3 new fields relating to Storage: Moved By, Date Moved and Movement Notes. This records when and who place the item in the storage location.
  • Management > Navigation: new functionality that calculates amount of records per Location and per Building.
  • Management > Evaluation History: new feature to record evaluations over a period of time. This compliments the current first and last evaluations, and evaluation notes.
  • Filters: a new feature to assist in identifying where items appear on websites and intranets.
  • Print options: reports have been updated to include the new storage fields: location and floor. Note these compliment the existing fields: building, room and specific.
  • Description Item ID: this is the unique identification given to an item which had the field size of 20 characers - this has been increased to 50 characters.
  • Main menu: new useful options added to the main menu are datasheet view, export to Excel, export to PDF, and export to Word (RTF).
