CollectorsMD upgrade to version 9.0 is complete



The upgrade of the CollectorsMD to version 9.0 has concentrated on improving and expanding the reports. Logos Flow approach to reporting is to offer various 'generic' reports that are supplied with the product. Previous upgrades included new reports but version 9.0 now offers a vast range of reports and reporting options.

Two new features have been added to improve the functionality of the Percentage Ownership and Provenance.

The upgrade to version 9.0 also includes improvements to the main modules: Producer, Item Description and Item Management.

Reporting
The main reports are in the following formats:

  • List: a list of items you select in a format that is useful for many purposes. You might require a list of items in stock, from a specific location, from a particular artist, ... The list option is a function option for providing working and useful lists. In version 9.0 you can choose to include or exclude most fields from your database. With or without images and in one, two or three columns.
  • Catalogue: similar to the List format but designed more for presentation.
  • Table: this format for all those working outputs – also saves ink and paper.

Your Details You have the option of using Your Details. This is a component that records information about you, or your business. This includes contact details such as address, telephone, fax, email, etc. This includes your logo and report footer - a catchy line that captures your mission.

Headers For every report you can select a header. A header you enter are stored and available when you require them.

Both the above Checklist and Catalogue reports give you’re the option of including:

  • Biographical details of the Producer
  • Research details of an Item
  • Description List (used to document albums, film, etc.)

  • Item Use (history of how Items were used)
  • Additional Costs
  • Provenance (history of ownership)
  • Percentage (share of current ownership)

Apart from the major improvements and additions to the reporting. The following is also included:

Producers:
  • Jump now shows all records prior to jumping. Previously you needed to click a 'Show all' before looking up across all Producer.
  • Status message bar: this is a new feature that lookups related Items and gives you a total. For example you might have 5 artworks done by a particular artist, you will see the total on the message bar. It is also clickable and opens the Description form with the related items displayed.
In previous version of the CollectorsMD there was an option called 'Producer Dialog'. This assisted you to link to, and add producers. This was a separate form that you needed to open. Now all that functionality is available via directly from the Item Description.

Description of Items:
  • Jump now shows all records prior to jumping. Previously you needed to click a 'Show all' before looking-up across all Items.
  • Status message bar: a similar a new feature as described in the Producer section above that lookups the related Producer and shows their name. It is also clickable and opens the Producer form.
  • In previous versions you would need to click the ‘Show selected records’ to view how many records are available for printing or exporting. Now there is a message box that always displays the current selection (it auto updates when selection changes). This is also available on Management (of an Item).
  • Selecting records is less ambiguous when starting a new, or adding to an existing selection. This is also available on Management (of an Item).
  • Adding a new Item Description: it now checks to see if the Producer form is option and lets the user know who the Item will be related to. If Producer form is not open, tells the user the Item will be added without a Producer related.
  • New Producer tab: very easy to associate, add or removed a related Producer.

General search:
  • Added new feature that displays an image thumbnail so you can immediately view an image of the Items.
  • Jump now shows all prior to jumping
  • Show Current selection and auto update when selection changes
  • Selecting records less ambiguous

Percentage Ownership:
  • Added new functionality and features to the Percentage Ownership. Options include: Select (an Item), Select All (Items), open Item Description, open Item Management, and Print Options.
  • Search and filtering across all Percentages.
  • New on main menu

Provenance (history of ownership):
  • Added new functionality and features to the Provenance. Options include: Select (an Item), Select All (Items), open Item Description, open Item Management, and Print Options.
  • Search and filtering across all Percentages.
  • New on main menu
